SATCOM for the Cockpit and the Cabin

Satellite-based communications or SATCOM offers essential benefits in the aircraft cockpit and in the cabin. SATCOM has traditionally been considered expensive to operate, but with new systems coming online, including new Ku and Ka-band services, the costs are coming down.

In the cockpit, pilots gain voice communications, superior to UHF and VHF radio capabilities, that can be used well out of range of ATC, and are particularly pertinent on oceanic routes. SATCOM can be critical for medical emergencies and trouble shooting.

In the cabin, this technology can be used to provide streaming data and internet access to passengers and crew.

At Mid-Canada Mod Center (MC2), we offer both Iridium and Inmarsat  SATCOM solutions from aviation’s most respected suppliers.
