Wire Harness Fabricator
The Wire Harness Fabricator is responsible for the precise fabrication, routing, and testing of aircraft wire harnesses based on engineering drawings and build-to-print documentation. This role is performed entirely off the aircraft, in a controlled workbench or production area, ensuring harnesses meet quality standards prior to installation.
Shift Work – Afternoon Schedule – 3:30 pm to 12:00 am
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layout drawings, and work instructions.
- Cut, strip, terminate, and crimp wires and cables according to building documentation and engineering standards.
- Route and bundle wire harnesses using lacing cord, tie wraps, and sleeves as specified.
- Required to fabricate, assemble or perform operations as assigned to produce electronic and electrical details.
- Install and secure connectors, back shells, contacts, splices, and other related hardware
- Perform continuity and insulation resistance checks using multimeters and other basic test equipment.
- Identify and document any non-conformances or discrepancies and escalate issues to quality or engineering as required.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in the fabrication work area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
- Participate in team meetings, continuous improvement activities, and cross-training as necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in electrical assembly or wire harness fabrication preferred
- Aerospace or aviation experience considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, heat guns, and soldering irons.
- Comfortable working in a seated or standing position for extended periods.
- Team-oriented with effective communication skills.
